My name is Alexandra Oremus, and I was raised in Laguna Niguel, California. Inspired by the ocean, I started painting on canvas at the age of 9. I am currently studying in the Fine Arts Program at the University of North Florida, planning to graduate in Spring 2020. My goal is to create art that increases awareness about relevant environmental issues, and that inspires respect for our endangered oceans and forests. The inspiration for my work is derived from the raw beauty of the ocean and the rain forests, and the strong desire to protect them. Surfing is another passion of mine, and has been a major source of inspiration for my work as well.
My paintings are primarily acrylic, but am skilled in other mediums, such as oil, watercolor, and airbrush painting. My education at UNF has allowed me to explore other art forms such as ceramics and surfboard shaping. I enjoy pottery and glazing techniques and have shaped and designed a few surfboards as well. I started selling my artwork in 2015, setting up a booth at the Jacksonville Beach Artwalk. I currently sell my work at a few of Jacksonville's other art walks: Downtown Artwalk, North Beach Artwalk, and Riverside Arts Market.
I offer sale of my original work on this site, as well as information about commission work and the availability of prints. I love working with my clients, making work to fit and match their space perfectly.
